Established in 1923, Playgoers is the oldest continually operating amateur theatre group in Canada. Produces plays or dinner theatre each October or February. The club sponsors the regional One-Act Play Festival and participates in the Alberta One-Act Festival each March/April. Playgoers also holds workshops in various aspects of acting, directing and stagecraft. Membership is $10 a year. Auditions are open to everyone. Lethbridge Shakespeare Performance Society

Lethbridge Shakespeare Performance Society was formed in 2012. High-quality Shakespeare in the Park performances are produced each summer in Galt Gardens with a cast and crew drawn from the University and the local community. No tickets required; plays are free and suitable for all ages. Donations are welcomed and a collection is taken at the end of each performance.
