Arts Days
Arts Days
Arts Days Lethbridge is an annual celebration of the arts held in conjunction with provincial and national Culture Days. The Allied Arts Council works with AAC members and member organizations to support and celebrate a variety of events throughout the City of Lethbridge.
Arts Days Lethbridge 2026 events take place between September 4 – 30 during Alberta’s Month of the Artist!
Allied Arts Council-led activities:
DOWNTOWN LENS – WINDOW MURALS
September 1 – September 30 | Various downtown business locations
Take a fresh look at downtown Lethbridge through Downtown Lens, a temporary public art project that transforms local storefront windows into vibrant works of art. From September 1–4, local artists will be paired with downtown businesses and organizations to create original window murals, turning the city centre into an outdoor gallery and creating a unique mural route for residents and visitors to explore. The murals will be completed in time for a special walking tour, offering a chance to see the artists at work and experience the finished pieces throughout downtown.
Downtown Lens brings together local artists, businesses and the community, adding colour and creativity to our downtown while supporting Lethbridge artists and encouraging people to explore and shop locally. Pick up a Downtown Lens map at the AAC or Casa in September.
DOWNTOWN LENS WALKING TOUR
September 4 | 5–7 PM | Downtown Lens mural route – Downtown
Join the artists behind Downtown Lens for a special guided walk through downtown Lethbridge and get an inside look at the stories, ideas and creative process behind their murals. The artists will lead guests along the mural route, sharing insights into their work and answering questions along the way. It’s a great opportunity to meet local artists, hear directly from the people who created these colourful new additions to downtown, and experience the murals in a whole new way. The walk will begin and end at Casa, bringing artists and community members together to celebrate creativity, connection and the vibrant arts community that makes Lethbridge unique. Grab a friend, join the walking tour and see downtown through a different lens!
BIG BAND BOP ON ROTARY SQUARE
September 4 | 7 PM | Rotary Square
Big Band Bop returns to Rotary Square for its third year, featuring the Lethbridge Big Band playing classic favourites like Frank Sinatra’s Fly Me to the Moon, alongside modern hits that will keep you moving. Swing Bridge Dance Community will join the band on the dance floor, creating a wonderful back-and-forth between the band and dancers. Whether you’re there to dance or simply enjoy watching, it’s a special part of what makes Big Band Bop such a fun night downtown. As the sun sets, the twinkle lights come alive, and the square takes on a little bit of magic. Come enjoy the music, watch the dancers, or join them on the floor for a beautiful evening of music and community under the lights, on Rotary Square.

INDIGENOUS FASHION SHOW
September 18 | 7–9 PM | Rotary Square, Casa
Step into the vibrant world of Indigenous fashion at Casa, in partnership with the Honouring Traditions Reconciliation Society. This special evening celebrates Indigenous creativity and culture through contemporary fashion, bringing together traditional craftsmanship, modern design and the evolving art of wearable expression. The show will feature collections by four Indigenous artists, worn by Indigenous models. Among the featured designers are Conroy Obey and his daughter, Nayana, who will come together to co-design a collection for the show. Their collaboration offers a beautiful glimpse into the way culture, creativity and knowledge can be shared across generations. This father-daughter duo celebrate the connections between West African and Indigenous communities, inspiring their Afro-Indigenous designs. The evening will also feature presentations by contenders for the 2026 Honouring Traditions Princess Pageant. Between designers, these young Indigenous leaders will share their stories and aspirations and dance, grounding the evening in culture and ceremony. The fashion show is part of a special weekend of programming with Honouring Traditions. Just days later, their annual Powwow will bring the community together, where the Princess Pageant winners will be crowned. We encourage fashion show attendees to join the celebration and experience more of the rich Indigenous culture and traditions being shared throughout the weekend. Come experience an evening of fashion, artistry, storytelling and culture—and celebrate the creativity of Indigenous artists, designers, models and young leaders in our community.

NATIONAL DAY OF TRUTH & RECONCILIATION: COMMUNITY JINGLE DRESS PROJECT
September 30 | 1–3 PM | Rotary Square, Casa
This National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the Allied Arts Council is inviting our community to come together through art, culture and collective action. Join us for the creation of a Community Jingle Dress, a collaborative project that will bring local artists and community members together to create something that reflects connection, culture and community. Serene Weasletraveler, a local Indigenous artist and designer, will guide the project, sharing their knowledge and helping ensure the process is culturally respectful and meaningful. Everyone is welcome to take part, learn, create and contribute to something that will belong to our community. Join us at Casa and Rotary Square as we honour the spirit of Orange Shirt Day and take part in creating something together—one piece, one connection and one step toward reconciliation at a time.
