Comedians Geri Hall and Gary Pearson are bringing their hysterical live sketch comedy revue MIDDLE RAGED to the Empress on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023 at 7:30 p.m.

Hall and Pearson, both veteran This Hour Has 22 Minutes alumni (Hall an actor, Pearson a writer) have developed a comedy show that explores the madness and indignities of middle age, including childrearing, empty nests, aging parents, financial stresses, and relationship changes. The show features song parodies and comedy sketches.

Together, Hall and Pearson have a slew of stage, television, and film credits under their belts. In additionto eight seasons as an anchor on This Hour has 22 Minutes, Hall’s other appearances include The Rick Mercer Report and numerous television commercials. She wrote the Gemini Award-nominated To Die 4 and appeared in the CBC animated show, The Blobheads. She has been nominated for several Gemini Awards and Canadian Comedy Awards, winning two CCAs for writing and performance for This Hour Has 22 Minutes.

Pearson has written and produced several shows, including MAD TV, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Corner Gas, and That’s So Weird!. He was part of The Second City and was a widely recognized face from dozens of television commercials and shows in the 1990s. Pearson won a Canadian Comedy Award and a Writers Guild of Canada award for writing on This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and has five additional award nominations. In 2014 he won a Canadian Screen Award for his work on This Hour Has 22 Minutes.

The humour of MIDDLE RAGED comes from the eerily familiar situations and challenges that face everyone who has had the good fortune to experience middle age, from the struggles to write your will to the ongoing effort it requires to keep things spicy in the bedroom. Ripe with song parodies, physical comedy, and relatable experiences, it is a show that promises wall to wall laughter.
