Join local ceramicist Gary Uchikura of Uchiwaza Ceramics as he provides a wheel-throwing demonstration.

Uchikura’s current practice involves wheel-thrown pottery, with an occasional experiment in hand-building. The work draws on references to the vessels he grew up with and reflects many Japanese aesthetics. He currently connects with the idea of reviving a connection between the maker and the user, leaving impressions of his hands in the work that he hopes will stir curiosity and a sense of bond through the touch of the vessel.
