Empress 35 of Vancouver, The Mother Court of Canada, Heir Apparent to Queen Mother I of the Americas-Empress Nicole the Great, 2nd in line of succession and Minister of Canadian Affairs for the International Court Council. Jaylene is a proud Indigenous Two Spirit Trans human. As a celebrated makeup artist, performer and LGBTQ2S+ ambassador, she believes that it is important to celebrate the power of community by contributing to the energy of our world with passion and positivity. Together for each other, we have the opportunity to inspire and educate. Our identities, beautifully diverse and wonderfully unique.

We want The Owl to be a place for everyone. We have one simple rule: Owl be nice. What does that mean? It’s as simple as it should be in everyday life, be kind and respectful to each other. Appreciate each other’s differences.
That is what “art” is all about, expression of oneself and the sharing of that expression. You may be surprised to find out what you learn when you are open to that idea. That is what this place is all about, encouraging people to do these things comfortably.
“Comfortably” is also a keyword. We want our guests to be comfortable. Simply put, don’t be a creep. Know personal boundaries. And if someone isn’t respecting yours, let our staff know.
If you “get” these ideas and want to be a part of something like this, there is plenty of room at our tables. If you don’t, then… well… this is awkward… See you never? Still, we are here if you decide to change your mind. You wouldn’t be the first or the last.
Theatre Outré is unusual and unexpected, startling and subversive, bizarre and bold, extravagant and evocative. Theatre Outré creates, produces, and presents theatre that is queer in either form or subject, an alternative to what is offered in the mainstream. We strive to entertain and provoke audiences with a combination of new works or reimagining classical canonical plays through an Outré lens.
Our programming and operations are motivated by the following guiding principles: We provide an uncensored, uplifting, and uncompromising voice to those in our community who are often considered to exist beyond the fringes of social propriety, sexual norms and gendered expectations.
Our goal is to make a concerted effort to employ Queer (2SLGBTQIA+) artists, artists who choose to live, work or study in the Lethbridge area, and Albertan artists. We strive to make our work and the artists we hire known to communities outside of Lethbridge through tours and other forms of inter-community outreach.
