The Lethbridge Folk Club Presents: Friends & Folk
The Lethbridge Folk Club is set to host a special fundraising celebration on Friday, December 12, 2025, at McKillop United Church. The event runs from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Online tickets are now available.
The evening aims to highlight the club’s achievements over the past year while helping build momentum and financial sustainability for future projects. Guests are encouraged to bring nonperishable food donations for the Interfaith Food Bank as part of the club’s ongoing commitment to community support.
Taking the stage are featured performers Leanne Lightfoot and Reid & Writes, joined by several surprise guests. Lightfoot is known for her raw, honest vocals and evocative songwriting, often exploring themes of love, land, and human connection. Her performances guide listeners through emotional, story-rich journeys.
Reid & Writes, a collective of seasoned musicians, will offer a blend of original songs and carefully chosen covers. Their sound—melodic, rhythmic, and dynamic—draws on personal experiences and Alberta’s landscapes to deliver universally resonant themes.
The event promises an evening of music, food, and festive spirit as the community gathers to celebrate the season and support the club’s ongoing work.

The Lethbridge Folk Club was incorporated as a non-profit society in 1979 by many diverse people to provide a venue and forum for local, national and international folk music. The late, great Stan Rogers regarded the Lethbridge folk Club as one of the top five clubs in North America. Almost all major Canadian folk music acts, including Valdy, Spirit of the West, the Rankin Family, and Connie Kaldor have performed at the club. More recent acts include Peter and the Wolves, Lennie Gallant, Oscar Lopez, and Sid Marty with Wailback. OUR MISSION The Folk Club has operated in many different venues over the years, such as the German-Canadian Club, the Moose Hall and the Wolf’s Den & The Cave at Lethbridge College and currently at the Army Navy Air Force Veterans Club downtown. The Folk Club fulfills its mission by hosting concerts and open stages regularly. Folk, roots, blues, bluegrass and Canadiana are a few of the genres we explore, finding notable musicians for you to experience. OUR VISIONThe Lethbridge Folk Club intends to renew it’s energy and commitment to Folk Music in Lethbridge by continuing to provide a venue for new and emerging local and regional artists, supporting entertainment, educational and community initiatives that enhance the live music experience for all, protect our sustainability by becoming a registered Canadian charity and commits’ to reestablishing the Lethbridge Folk Festival as an annual Lethbridge event by 2029. The Lethbridge Folk Club, founded in 1979, is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers.
