The Alanis Morissette Project was started by Danica Sommer. From growing up listening to Jagged Little Pill on her boombox to playing Alanis’s songs on guitar for her family and friends, this project is all about the love she has for one of Canada’s greatest song writers and vocalists. The band consists of Keilan Hakstol on drums, Keely Evanoff on bass, Austin Phillips on lead guitar, and Dayton Jans providing exceptional rhythm and soundscapes also on guitar.
Makiisma is a singer and songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, local to Lethbridge who has played most stages around southern Alberta with their band as well as countless other projects over the years. Their album Lady Misery released in 2020 “brings together elements of the classical world with her passion for heavy, raw, expressive music. Makiisma creates songs that lie somewhere between Portishead, Black Mountain, and death gospel artist Chelsea Wolfe.” – Al Beeber Lethbridge Herald.

That is what “art” is all about, expression of oneself and the sharing of that expression. You may be surprised to find out what you learn when you are open to that idea. That is what this place is all about, encouraging people to do these things comfortably.
“Comfortably” is also a keyword. We want our guests to be comfortable. Simply put, don’t be a creep. Know personal boundaries. And if someone isn’t respecting yours, let our staff know.
If you “get” these ideas and want to be a part of something like this, there is plenty of room at our tables. If you don’t, then… well… this is awkward… See you never? Still, we are here if you decide to change your mind. You wouldn’t be the first or the last.
