The Lethbridge Symphony presents Chamber III: Nordic Noir – “There’s no bad weather, only bad clothing” – Swedish proverb. Come in from the cold and spend a cozy evening with MSQ, as they perform music from Scandinavia, full of icy themes and ancient melodies. Immerse yourself in Grieg’s String Quartet in G minor, where the composer masterfully mixes Nordic folk music with thick romantic orchestral textures, then try to keep yourself from dancing to a selection of rollicking Viking songs arranged for string quartet. Did you know Grieg kept a little frog figurine in his pocket? Before performing, he would hold it in his hand for good luck. We’re pretty sure there are no frogs in anyone’s pockets tonight, but you never know.
