We Are All Treaty People
Created by the Artists of Making Treaty 7
A Co-production between Quest Theatre and Making Treaty 7 Cultural Society
Friday, June 1, 2018 at 7pm
Southminster United Church
(As well, several performances were offered to local school districts.)

In this performance, a Trickster poses the question of whether friendship can exist between two girls who don’t understand the shared history between their cultures. In telling the story of southern Alberta’s history and the Making of Treaty 7, the play touches on the whiskey trade and residential schools. Told with song, prayer, creative movement and puppets, the play’s intent is to promote healing through inspiring stories that educate, entertain and forge relationships across cultures and generations. The girls in the story defy the Trickster and do become friends.

The cast includes Blackfoot actor and activist Garret C. Smith, Siksika artist Elizabeth Ferguson, Cree musician Curt Young, Alexandra Dawkins, and Geneviève Paré.

The Allied Arts Council is able to present this performance to the community with Quest Theatre & the Making Treaty 7 Cultural Society thanks to funding from the Community Initiatives Program Alberta Canada 150 Grant.
